LA BioSpace Incubator

The LA BioSpace Incubator at the Rongxiang Xu Bioscience Innovation Center is a LA County-Cal State LA bioscience incubator that is coming soon to the LA Bioscience Corridor. Scheduled to open in 2020, LA BioSpace will be a launching pad for bioscience start-ups to grow, thrive, and find create a home in the LA Bioscience Corridor. The future incubator will provide access to low-cost lab space, industry mentors and support services for entrepreneurs. 

The new incubator is envisioned to be 20,000 square feet of ground up, new construction on Cal State LA's campus. To date, the project has secured $3 million of seed funding from the County of Los Angeles, and $3.2 million from the US Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration.


In summer 2017, Cal State LA, Biocom Institute, and LA Cleantech Incubator (LACI) launched the LA BioStart Bioscience Entrepreneurs Boot Camp. This is an EDA funded project with a mission to support and provide resources to emerging regional bioscience startups. The high-intensity training program pairs emerging bioscience entrepreneurs with industry experts and executives for a crash course on business fundamentals and leadership skills related to the bioscience industry.
