Workforce & Economic Development

In Summer 2016 we launched the Biotech Leaders Academy. Biotech Leaders Academy has two key components: (1) an entrepreneurship seminar and (2) paid internships at local biotech firms. The program is returning in Summer 2019 - click here to learn more about this unique program.

Nearby universities and community colleges are an invaluable asset to the LA Bioscience Corridor as they are the region’s key sources for bioscience talent and innovation. By engaging local bioscience companies and through partnerships with local community colleges and workforce training programs, LA Bioscience Hub assists in cultivating a locally-grown bioscience workforce trained for jobs supported by the Corridor.

With BioSpaceLA, a new LA County-Cal State LA bioscience incubator on the horizon, the future of the Corridor will be enriched with a flow of new start-ups and entrepreneurs. BioSpaceLA will be a launching pad for bioscience start-ups to access low-cost lab space, industry mentors and support services for entrepreneurs. The LA Bioscience Hub will monitor and promote the growth of bioscience startups by driving investment and venture capital into the Corridor.
